Administrative simplification

Contacts between government and the socially insured sometimes involve complicated forms and procedures. In order to change that, administrative simplification became one of the government's priorities.

Government Commissioner for social security, Greet Van Gool, launched her action plan in March 2001 for a more accessible and user-friendly social security.

The NISSE goes along with this by:

  • submitting 8 simplification project proposals: five regarding the simplification of procedures and decisions, three regarding forms
  • participating in a number of study groups, involved in the application of the Charter of the socially insured
  • composing several study groups per department and by appointing a representative for the revision of the forms. A central cell coordinates the work of the various departments. The Readability Committee regularly offers advice to the members of the study groups.
