Pension supplement

The pension supplement is a benefit that is granted in addition to the pension.

Conditions
In order to be eligible for a pension supplement, you need to satisfy the following conditions:

  • Your pension must have commenced for the first time and at the earliest on 1 July 1997 and commence at the latest on 1 December 2008
  • You must have brought up a child for whom you received a child support benefit
  • The career fraction that serves to calculate your pension as a self-employed person must cover at least 2/3 of a total career (for example, at least 30/45 for a male)
  • You must effectively and without interruptions have been receiving your pension as of 1 January of the year in question and that pension must effectively be paid out in July.

Payment
The pension supplement is paid out annually in the course of the month of July by the National Pension Office.
Note! Only one pension supplement will be paid out, even if both you and your spouse separately satisfy the above conditions.
