Conditions

• you have signed the adoption deed
• you or your spouse is a  rightful claimant
• the adopted child is part of your family
• the adopted child meets the conditions of eligibility for child benefits

Accumulation prohibition
The adoption allowance can be paid only once, either to you or to your spouse.
The allowance is not paid if you or your partner has already received a maternity benefit.
