The certificate of self-employed status is an extra guarantee
for self-employed artists.
This certificate provides you for a period of maximum two years with the certainty that you will be considered
as a self-employed person for the described activities.
Application
You must make your application on the information form.
The Commission of Artists will examine your dossier at the latest within 2 months following the registration
of your application. Their decision will be sent to you by registered mail.
Statement of cancellation
Should you be found to have provided false and/or incomplete information
to the Commission of Artists, the certificate of self-employed status shall be cancelled. Notice
of this cancellation will be sent to the artist by registered letter.
It is subsequently incumbent on the artist to immediately inform all of his principals, by registered
letter, of the loss of his qualification
as a self-employed artist . As of the date of the mentioned registered notification, the
principals must regard you as a regular employed worker.
Extension
You are not obliged to request an extension when the certificate of self-employed status expires
after two years. You will remain a self-employed worker until the contrary is proved.
Nevertheless, it can prove handy to have a renewed guarantee in your possession. In that case, it is best
to make a timely application for an extension of your certification.
To that end, you are required to submit to the Commission of Artists an information form at the latest during the second quarter before the expiry of the current validity term.
The new decision will be communicated to you by registered letter at the latest 1 month prior to the expiration
of the current guarantee.
Attention! Your certificate of self-employed status is an
option; it is not an obligation.
